About Us

ABOUT THE COHA

The Charitable Organisation for Human Aid (COHA) is an organisation established in 2005 which started in the Western Region of Ghana, precisely Shama, and now has extended its catchment area to Kpando in the Volta Region. The organisation going through difficulties in registration was finally registered in August 2010. The registration number is G-33,344, and the certificate of incorporation and certificate of commencement of business were issued on 12th August 2010.

COHA has its broad aim to promote the socio-economic development of the rural poor and by that working and contributing to the distress of people in rural and urban communities to make lives better for them through self-help and community development and rural poverty reduction.


COHA GLOBAL PROGRAMMES
AREAS AND OUTLINE OF ACTIVITIES

COHA GLOBAL NGO has outlined two main areas of operation.
(i) Social Development Programmes.
(ii). Financial support for its members in their various small-scale enterprise developments.

In addition to the above programmes outlined, these are other activities that we embark on for the members, especially the teaming unemployed youths, to be groomed to set up small-scale enterprises to equip the youth with the necessary tools to enhance their work output to meet their modern-day standards of what is accepted globally.
To proceed, we also groom the youth who are members of the organisation to be processed for the work abroad programmes initiated by the government for the labour export to foreign countries like Europe, the USA, Asia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The following are areas in which we intervene as an organisation that aims at children’s and youth’s talent development.


CATEGORIES


(1). Youth and Culture
Youth Sports Development.

(2). Agriculture and Food Security
(i) Provide training for Community-Based Farmer Organisations (CBFOs).
(ii). Provide training for CBFOs in modern-day trends for farmers in chemical applications and manure applications for good crop yields.

(iii) Provide education to CBFOs on post-harvest losses and equip farmers with the necessary tools to curb post-harvest losses to enhance food preservation for food insecurity.

COHA's Vision is to see poor rural urban communities in Ghana become relief through the empowerment of the rural, urban women and men to embark on meaningful income generating activities. And also extend our services to other regions in Ghana and beyond the borders of Ghana after our success is much measurable.

OUR MISSION

COHA'S Mission is therefore to work in a holistic manner to improve the rural-urban poor in disadvantage communities. The emphasis will be placed on women through economic and social empowerment since they serve as bedrock for their families.

OBJECTIVES

COHA's main objectives are to
